We know Echidna is separated from normal human logic. And his search for information is a Mania. She lack empathy, the ability humans have to read what other human is feeling, and feel it in sympathy. She is not like "Agent Smith" in the matrix, trapped in a world that hate, she is overjoyed when his favorite things get to his hands, but is uncaring about others to the point she is a monster. A worthless asshole. She is bad, but maybe theres a bit of good in her. When Subaru found that Echidna can be his confindent, and tell Echidna about the times he died and looped and Subaru vomited all that pain and ended in his knees crying. Echidna jumped from his chair to console him. Hug him. Clear his tears. And that made all the difference, maybe not for Subaru, he would have consoled himself, our found consoling somewhere. But it shows Echidna can feel, for Subaru. That Echidna maybe can be a monster for everyone else in the world, but for Subaru she could feel empathy and give him a hug. I had a sudden realization about the looping involving Subaru and Emilia. I think we are going to watch a Arc, where Emilia and Subaru are teleported back in time, and have their memories erased, and is going to be the exact same Arc 1 episodes again. With Subaru falling in love with Emilia. With the amnesia, they will have to get new names, Flugel and Satella. Like somebody replaying their favorite videogame with amnesia, and choosing the same exact dialog options. Is not destiny, magic, any type of power or energy. Is just how we are, we do not choose randomly, even when taking options that feel random.
