Been following some history youtube videos lately. Surprised how brutal history can get. I am fortunate to live in a relatively peaceful era on a peaceful region. Anyway, something I found surprising is how some character died. Cesar died stabbed, but really, only one of the stabs was mortal, the others where scratches, survivable. Cesar really only had one enemy, the others a bunch of cowards. But we don't know what was the hand the stabbed deep into Cesar body. So it was Brutus? Attila another curious death. Overdrank himself into unconsciousness, and died in his wedding bed, with a trivial nasal bleed. A drunktard death. Perhaps the most ironical was Archimedes, the greatest engineer the ancient world has seen. His city getting conquered, he decided to focus on geometry. He was surprised by a soldier while drawing circles in a paper. He shouted "Noli turbare circulos meos!" and was murdered by the soldier annoyed by the answer. Some random soldier killed the biggest genius their world had seen.

Design is easy to define, relatively. Design is creating with a purpose. I am sometimes surprised by the importance of these words. Is more because the negative also exist. There are things without purpose, without reason, love or desire, or even a bias. Undesigned,.. maybe random things that where once random, and later they where copied. Or maybe originally had a purpose, but the act of copying lost enough information that the purpose was lost. Not just the purpose, the intention.

What that means?, that the nuclear explosion punch has destroyed many of the doors that goes to hell, leaving behind a giant hole. It may allow entities whose shape we don't have a name, terrors beyond the current capabilities of the living, to enter our realm. I dont see anyone talking about this.

We know now that Fumiko survives. Fumiko is similar to a existing real cancer thing. 11.000 years ago a dog had cancer in the penis. The original Fumiko may have died, but theres always some Fumiko somewhere that can restart the chain reaction to create more Fumikos. How more Fumikos are created, is sex obviously, but the details matter. In a obscure universe, Fumiko is forced to let her be raped by prisioners in jails, to create more Fumikos. In a more gentle universe, Fumiko itself clone herself on people seducing them, basically deleting them after five minutes of fun. So in theory, theres a apocalypse where Fumiko manage to delete all human population. You can imagine roaming bands of Fumiko searching non-fumiko people to pass trough the "process" to turn them into Fumiko. I have to guess here, but makes sense to me that womens can also be turned into Fumikos. I hope the story don't end there, because then the theme of rape would be unavoidable, and is a theme that make me nervous. But Fujimoto has touched even worse themes and made sense for the story. How Denji ends?, he finnaly get the sex that his teenager brain so much desire. And he do it with Fumiko first (not with Asa or Makima or Reze or other) and after finishing his face slowly turn into Fumiko, and she awake turned.

Sex and Death in a single person. Themes of abuse and rape. And a person that is one person but its also multiple people with conflicting goals. Are we really appreciating the geniality of this character?, from a philosophical perspective is absolutely amazing. Fumiko is a young Karen, she is boring and superbasic person on the surface. She can't be more boring. Her personality is bland, and she accept the demands of these in power "because is my job". The original Fumiko probably does not exist anymore, crushed by education and conformance. If she had any opinion on his own, these long death and forgotten. But she is still kinda a monster. The cruelty of his actions are made of justice or perhaps revenge. No doubt the governement is forcing her to have sex with prisioners condemned to the death capital, to create more of Fumiko, because every Fumikos are easy to control. Forcing somebody to have sex is rape, so she (that was probably raped at 14 years old) is getting forced into rape by the governement. We talked about it, and she probably is not a hivemind. She does not share his mind with many other minds into a single supermind, so she is more like a society, a country,... a country of people that share messages and opinions. We know not all Fumikos are equal. We have meet a Fumiko that was friendly to Denji, that wanted to save Denji, and we have meet Fumikos that disregarded Denji safety or needs / loves. Even a Fumiko that all that wanted from Denji was trophy. Is possible to think that every time Fumiko creates a clone, that clone become a new branch that is slighly different than other branch, and over time creating families and even evolution. Fumiko is itself a virus... or better say, she is some bacteria that can multiply by making copies of itself. She is a parasite that need humanity has host to multiply. She reproduce by killing. A bit like Alex Mercer, the character from the videogame Prototype. So, how long she will remain human-shaped, now that she does not have human limitations. She is slave of the governement, that use her like some silly-putty that can force into whatever shape. But sometimes slaves revolt and kill their slavers. Have some of the Fumikos already a agenda different than the one of the govenement, different than Death and Life?
